INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING HARD DISK IN GEMINI 4 HD USB
If we connect to GEMINI a Usb disk in which we have .mp3 files or some Software Upgrade file, by pressing the ARCHIVE button (without formatting the disk through the menu), we can select and listen to the .mp3 files or choose to Upgrade the Receiver Software. However, if we connect a usb disk to the GEMINI 4 HD USB and want to make recordings, we must first format it through the receiver menu. When we format it, the receiver will create its own partition on the usb disk and configure it according to its own needs, in its own operating system. This practically means that it can no longer be used on PC, unless we do some necessary actions. If we use it on GEMINI and then we want to use it on PC, it needs to be reformatted on PC first. Usually the PC, as we connect the disk, automatically asks us to format it. If it doesn't ask us to, we'll have to do it manually, because otherwise we'll see it in the Device Manager in the Control Panel, but it won't show up in My Computer, so we won't be able to handle it.

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS OF GEMINI AND MATRIX FROM PC
The receivers GEMINI 4 HD, GEMINI 4 HD USB, MATRIX 4 HD and MATRIX 4 HD USB are accepting the same software.
The latest firmware version is V.0210Α της 28-6-2012_usb , for GEMINI 4 HD USB and MATRIX 4 HD USB
If the receiver is without USB port, then we use the serial update version : V.0210A της 28-6-2012_serial update , for GEMINI 4 HD and MATRIX 4 HD
A previous software version is V.0186 της 29-3-2011. One of the files is LoaderHDhelp.chm, which describes the upgrade process in detail with photos.
One of the previous firmware version is V.0145 της 5-2-2010
Versio V.0145 makes perfect Teletext on Digea channels.
If the receiver already has the previous version, V.0143 of 9-1-2010, then the upgrade can be done directly via USB stick (this only applies to the USB model), without a receiver-PC connection cable. If the receiver has an older upgrade (or if we are going to upgrade the model without USB), then this can only be done with the special RS232-RJ11 cable, which is included in the package.
The previous software version V.0143, had the following improvements:
# Fixes the problem of displaying the Greek EPG on DIGEA channels.
# On GEMINI 4 HD USB, fixes the problem of displaying the font of the titles of the recordings. Now the registered titles are displayed in Greek.
# It is now possible to play .mp3 files on the GEMINI 4 HD USB. If we have a USB stick or disk (which must necessarily be formatted in FAT32 filesystem) and inside the usb stick we have .mp3 files, then we insert the usb stick into the receiver and we press the ARCHIVE button. There we select and listen to the .mp3 files . – If we want to make program recordings, it is necessary to format the usb stick (or disk), through the receiver's menu. Attention, if we format a USB storage device, all its contents will be deleted.
# After upgrading with the new software, on the GEMINI 4 HD USB, it is possible to make the upgrades with a USB stick and no longer require the special cable to connect to the PC (we copy the decoder.app software file to the usb stick, insert the usb stick into the receiver and press the ARCHIVE button, there we select the new software file and the receiver performs the upgrade).

1.. The receiver is unplugged and disconnected from the TV.
2.. We have all GEMINI 4 HD software upgrade files in one folder on PC.
3.. We connect the receiver to the computer with the cable (RJ11 – RS232), which we find in the package of the receiver. We also connect the receiver to the TV.
4.. We plug in the receiver and go to a channel.
5.. We go to the folder with the receiver files and open the LoaderHD.exe program and we select the COM Port.
6.. We click on the Start Update and the process begins. Next to Start Update, a progress bar appears. During the upgrade, the display writes: Boot. We wait about 5 minutes until it writes in the program: Update OK and the receiver restarts itself.
7.. The receiver has now been upgraded. Unplug the receiver and then disconnect the RJ11 – RS232 cable from the PC.
- We open the receiver and go to Menu – Installation – Factory Reset and press OK to make factory settings and scan the channels again.

- We copy the decoder.app file (without renaming it) to a USB stick and insert the USB stick into the receiver.
- We press the ARCHIVE button on the remote control and select the decoder.app file.
- A message appears on the receiver: Settings are being saved, please wait.. . In 3-4 seconds the receiver finishes the upgrade and automatically reboots. It is ready.
FILE TRANSFER PROGRAM FROM GEMINI TO PC: GeminiBox2PC. Read the user instructions of the program. Attention, in order for the program to work, the Gemini menu must be in English at the time of connection.
